Vancouver Public Library hosts author talk on Imperial Masquerade: The Legend of Princess Der Ling
The author will talk about the many-faceted personality that was Princess Der Ling, and give a reading from his book, the
first biography of this unique twentieth century woman. Along with rare photographs from the court of the Empress Dowager
Cixi, lent for use by the Smithsonian Institution, attendees will also find autographed books by Der Ling, a sample of imperial
palace embroidery, and a scroll painting from the brush of the Empress Dowager.
Books will be available for purchase - the author will happily sign (and chop) copies on request.
